Higher Algebra, Geometry, and Topology

Research associate position in Strasbourg (offer expired)

We are inviting applications for a one-year research associate position at Université de Strasbourg starting in September 2023 (exceptionally, other start dates may be permitted). Suitable candidates are early career researchers in areas of algebra, geometry, and topology closely related to the ones of this ANR HighAGT project, that is to say deformation theory, homotopical algebra, operad theory, and higher category theory. In addition to advancing in their own research, the successful candidate is expected to participate in the activities of this project. The candidate will be hosted by the ART (Algebra, Representations, Topology) team with Vladimir Dotsenko as a mentor.

Salary, teaching, and language

The net pay (after the deduction of social contributions, including health coverage and pension contributions, but not income taxes) is approximately 2300 euros/month. No teaching duties will be imposed on the successful candidate and mastery of the French language is not a requirement. However, if the successful candidate would like to undertake a limited amount of teaching, this can be arranged (for extra remuneration). As a member of the ANR HighAGT project, the successful candidate will have access to some travel funding.

Application procedure

Selection will be based on the scientific excellence of the candidate, on the quality of the proposed research project, and on the compatibility with the topics of this ANR HighAGT grant. Applicants should have defended their Ph.D. prior to the start of the contract.

Interested candidates should submit their application to Vladimir Dotsenko using the email address vdotsenko@unistra.fr before March 25, 2023 at 11pm CET. The following documents in PDF format must be included:
